Information
I am a multidisciplinary artist based in Boston, currently studying at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. Raised in China in an all-female household, my perspective is shaped by cross-cultural experience and sustained observation of women across different generations.
I work across installation, sculpture, photography, and moving image, often incorporating everyday materials and found objects to construct staged environments and sculptural forms. My practice draws from elements of daily life, reconfiguring familiar materials into emotionally charged spaces that blur the boundary between the ordinary and the constructed.
I approach systems of everyday politics, historical trauma, and memory through a female-centered perspective, examining how personal experience and emotion are shaped within larger social and historical structures.
My process often involves constructing and fabricating performative props for the camera, including garments and wearable objects made from mixed materials.
These elements are activated through interaction with the human body, creating a tactile dialogue between material and skin. Through moving image, I explore the unfolding of time and space, using staged gestures and material contact to generate an immersive and affective atmosphere.
I am interested in how histories continue to shape contemporary social structures, and in amplifying the tension between violence and emotion to reveal their coexistence within everyday experience.
